ANZUK Education has announced the acquisition of Apple A Day, a boutique education supply agency that has supported schools across the South West of England for almost two decades, marking a strategic expansion of ANZUK’s presence in the UK market.
Founded with a strong reputation for quality, care and deep local relationships, Apple A Day has become a trusted partner to schools throughout the region. The acquisition reflects ANZUK’s intention to invest in sustainable, community-led growth while strengthening regional expertise in education recruitment. For ANZUK, which was founded in Melbourne in 2004 and has since grown into a global education recruitment specialist, the move reinforces its long-term commitment to supporting schools and educators through locally grounded solutions.
Under the agreement, Apple A Day will continue to operate under its existing brand in the short term, with a gradual transition to ANZUK branding and systems planned by summer 2026. Schools and educators are expected to experience continuity of service, supported by access to ANZUK’s wider resources, networks and professional development opportunities.
Founder Gemma Edgar will remain at the helm of Apple A Day, working closely with ANZUK’s UK leadership team to accelerate growth across the South West while preserving the agency’s local-first approach. Edgar said the decision to partner with ANZUK was driven by shared values and a mutual focus on doing the right thing by schools and educators. She noted that while she had been approached many times over the years, ANZUK stood out as a partner that aligned closely with Apple A Day’s ethos and long-term vision.
ANZUK leadership described the acquisition as a natural fit, built on complementary strengths and a shared commitment to people-first recruitment. James Sanders, Co-CEO of Scoot and ANZUK Education, said Apple A Day had built strong partnerships and an excellent reputation in the South West, and that bringing the two organisations together represented an investment in the region and its educators. He added that the combined teams would help ensure schools have access to consistent, high-quality staffing now and into the future.
The acquisition aligns with ANZUK’s broader strategy to grow responsibly while supporting uninterrupted learning by connecting schools with the right educators at the right time. Late last year, ANZUK also launched its International Schools Partnership across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with more than 30 roles currently live and further opportunities set to be released later this year. Today, ANZUK operates across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the United States, partnering with early years settings, primary and secondary schools and education leaders to strengthen school communities and support educator success.
