Federation University Australia has officially launched its new Melbourne city campus today, with the aim of strengthening its presence in what it calls “Australia’s education capital” and supporting its network of campuses throughout regional and outer metropolitan Victoria.
Special guests in attendance at the opening included the Consul General for India in Melbourne, Dr Sushil Kumar, Acting Consul General for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, Aruna Devendra and Caroline Hartnett, Director, Study Melbourne.
“Federation University Australia is excited to open its new Melbourne City Campus and expand its vast network of campuses that span Victoria from Gippsland in the east, to the Wimmera in the west,” said Professor Duncan Bentley, Vice-Chancellor and President, Federation University Australia.
The Melbourne City Campus is located at 470 Bourke Street and approximately 230 international students studying Business, Engineering, Health and Information Technology courses will be based there in 2025.
“Having a new campus located in the heart of Melbourne will open up new opportunities to engage with industry, government and community partners as we continue to expand our Co-operative Education Model which will be embedded across our entire education offering from 2026 onwards,” Professor Bentley said.
In future the campus will provide opportunities for Federation University staff and domestic students located at its other campus.
More information can be found on the Federation University website about Melbourne city campus and the Co-operative Education Model.
