Nominations are now open for the 2025 Study NT International Student Awards, celebrating international students, alumni and employers who have made outstanding contributions to the Northern Territory’s education sector and wider community.
The awards recognise the achievements of current international students and alumni, as well as the support shown by local businesses that employ international student talent. Categories include International Student of the Year, International Student Volunteer of the Year, International Alumni of the Year and International Student Employer of the Year.
Past winners continue to play an active role in strengthening the Territory community. Cong Do Le, the 2024 International Student of the Year, said winning the award was a source of pride and motivation. “It made me feel very proud and motivated to keep contributing to the community, while also encouraging other students to believe in themselves,” he said. “Studying in the NT has always been one of the best choices I have ever made.”
As of May 2025, more than 4,200 international students are enrolled in the Territory. Deputy Chief Executive Kelly Ralston said international students are vital to both the economy and the cultural life of the NT. “By celebrating our international student community, we are enriching their study experience and enhancing our international education sector,” she said. “A positive experience shared by students has ongoing impacts in attracting further students to the Territory.”
Nominations close on 2 October, with winners to be announced at a ceremony at Parliament House on 20 November.
