Studyportals has announced the launch of an AI Student Advisor, Sophia, designed to help its 55 million annual student visitors navigate their journeys to study abroad. Sophia uses the latest AI technology to pull information from the Studyportals knowledge base and guides students through their study abroad journeys.

This digital-first approach underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and its dedication to providing future-fit solutions that meet the evolving needs of students and educational institutions alike.

In a release received from Studyportals, they state it enhances student outcomes and experience in the following way:

Comprehensive information:

The all-knowing AI Student Advisor draws on Studyportals extensive knowledge base, with up-to-date information on programmes, institutions, scholarships and destination countries. With all study destinations listed, students can explore and compare educational opportunities across the globe, making informed decisions with ease.

Education-specific information:

Sophia is purpose-built to provide thorough and detailed information, helping students understand their options and the requirements of different programmes. It is trained to avoid engaging in unrelated topics.

Multiple languages supported:

Sophia can engage with prospective students in over 20 languages, with more to follow.

Personalised guidance:

Students receive relevant, personalised information and advice, ensuring they can engage at different points during their individual journeys to study abroad. They can find the best-fit programme that aligns with their specific academic and career aspirations.

Privacy assurance:

Data privacy is paramount, with stringent measures in place to protect student information.

“Embracing a digital-first approach, the AI Student Advisor represents the future of student engagement and support. This transformative tool supports universities in providing round-the-clock support for students, and helps make education choice transparent, globally.” says Edwin van Rest, CEO and Co-founder of Studyportals.

The AI Student Advisor will be continually improved, trained and updated to ensure the best possible user experience for students.

This launch builds on Studyportals’ mission to ensure that no student misses out on an educational opportunity due to a lack of information.
