In a collaborative initiative between Deakin University in Australia and Coventry University in the UK, there are currently two doctoral (PhD) scholarships on offer.
Summary
- This is the joint PhD program between Deakin and Coventry University.
- Each PhD candidate will graduate with two PhDs, one from Deakin and one from Coventry.
- The PhD candidates will need to meet the entry requirements of doctoral programs at both Deakin and Coventry (see details in the ads).
- The PhD candidate enrolled at Deakin is expected to spend 12 months of the total period of the program at Coventry, with the remainder of the program based at Deakin and similar arrangement for the one enrolled at Coventry.

- Coventry’s proposed PhD program: International University Alliances: Reframing Higher Education Internationalisation in a Changing Geopolitical Context.
- Both candidates will be part of the PhD Neighbourhood Group in International Education at Deakin.
Scholarship 1: Reframing International Education and Student Mobility in a Changing Geopolitical Context
Eligibility: UK/International (including EU) graduates with the required entry requirements
Duration: Full-Time – between three and three and a half years fixed term
Application deadline: 1 October 2024
Interview date: Will be confirmed to shortlisted candidates

Funding
This scholarship is supported by Deakin University, is available over 3 years and includes:
- Stipend of $A33,500 per annum tax exempt (2023 rate)
- Relocation allowance of $500-1500 (for single to family) for students moving from interstate
- International students only: Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of the student visa.
- Full Tuition Fee Waiver for up to 4 years
- Funding to support travel of PhD Student between Deakin University and Coventry University
