The Australia International Education Conference (AIEC) for 2023 is 81 days away. The preliminary program was released last week, and it has something for everyone.
The conference is being hosted in Adelaide from 10 to 13 October. This year’s conference theme is “International education: visionary and transformative”. AIEC 2023 will explore how the international education sector continues to transform people, places and ideas to result in a better, more inclusive and connected world.
Rightly so, with the Australian Universities Accord Interim report released this week having a big say on international education and reviews of the Migration system and International Education and Tourism anticipated to be handed down between now and the conference, there will be lots for the sector to discuss.
Phil Honeywood, CEO of the International Education Association of Australia, who co-runs the conference with IDP said he’s “pleased to have locked in keynote speeches from Federal Education Minister, Jason Clare and Skills and Training Minister, Brendan O’Connor.”
“Given that some key reviews into the sector, e.g. the Migration Review, Universities Accord and the Joint Standing Committee’s investigation into international education are being finalised over coming months then we can anticipate some important contributions from the two Ministers.” He said.
Over 1,500 international education academics and professionals from around the globe are expected to attend this year.
