Enhancing ethical AI engagement

In an era where technology intersects education, the integration of AI-powered language models like Chat GPT into English language learning presents promising opportunities and pressing challenges. This discussion based interactive webinar, hosted by the English Australia Ed-Tech SIG, aims to explore how ELICOS colleges are addressing the use of generative AI tools by their students. It will address challenges around managing the use of AI in language based assessment, such as with Chat GPT detection tools, as well as considerations when creating policies to ensure responsible and ethical use.

The session will start with three short case studies presented by English Australia member colleges, being University of Adelaide English Language Centre, Phoenix Academy and UNSW College. Following this, there will be facilitated group discussions where participants will be encouraged to share their college’s experiences, challenges, and innovative solutions.
