The International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) has recently published digital resources from the National Symposium on the future of Australia-China school partnerships which was held on 21 May 2024.
These resources include:
- A follow-up report on the National Symposium on which is available in both English and Chinese; and
- Full-length recordings of Symposium sessions.
IEAA CEO Phil Honeywood said ‘IEAA was pleased to be able to support our members and other Australia-China schools stakeholders through this project which was funded through the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations grants program. Our follow-up report is available in both English and Chinese which also ensures greater accessibility to these digital resources’.
The symposium was held in May as a hybrid event, with a combined audience of 200+; the National Symposium brought together school leaders, principals, educators, policymakers and a diverse range of other stakeholders active in Australia-China school partnerships. Speakers and panels chairs included representatives from Australia’s Department of Education; the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Canberra; Departments of Education and curriculum authorities from South Australia, Queensland and Victoria; the Asia Education Foundation; the Jiangsu-Victoria Education Centre; Meg Languages; Weiming Education Group; Value Learning; as well as schools based across China and in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
The published report outlines priorities and charts a course for greater collaboration between Chinese and Australian stakeholders in the sometimes overshadowed schools sector.
The project was supported through a grant from the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations (and their grant program is currently open for applications).
