As expected, the Education Services for Overseas Students Amendment (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024 has been listed for debate in the next sitting of Parliament, commencing on Monday, 18 November.
In the Senate Notice Paper, the ESOS Amendment Bill has been listed alongside 20 other Bills the Government will be keen to get through Parliament this year and before nest year’s anticipated election.
The order that the Bills will be debated will be determined prior to the next sitting. The Koala is hearing rumours that the ESOS Amendment Bill might not be debated until the second sitting week, commencing 25 November.
The Senate Notice Paper is available here.
* The picture used for this story might be interpreted as the calm before the storm. But it’s really an excuse to share a holiday snap from my current location in the picturesque town of Merimbula on the NSW South Coast. And it also serves as a reminder that there are many joys in life, regardless of what governments and politicians do.
