ESOS Bill to be debated on Monday
Share on LinkedinShare on TwitterShare on FacebookShare via Email

The latest Senate Notice Paper has the Education Services for Overseas Students Amendment (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024 listed at number one under Government business—Orders of the day (it was previously listed at ten).

This reordering indicates that the Bill will be debated on the Senate’s first sitting day, Monday, 18 November. However, we will know more on Monday morning when the Senate Order of Business is issued. The Order of Business is issued each sitting day before the Senate meets as a guide to the matters proposed to be dealt with that day.

Note that even if the ESOS Amendment Bill is listed in the Order of Business it is not a guarantee that it will be debated, it will also depend on the other Senate business on the day.

For those who are keen to follow what is happening on Monday, you can watch the debate as it happens; the Senate is broadcast live and you can access it here.
