StudyPerth, in collaboration with the Australian Homestay Network, has extended its successful joint campaign to increase the number of AHN hosts in Perth for international students.
Australian Homestay Network has acknowledged that the campaign has contributed significantly to increasing the number of registered host families in Western Australia, providing a safe, secure and culturally enriching exchange experience for International students while providing a tax-free passive income for hosts.
David Bycroft, AHN Founder and Director said “Study Perth should be congratulated for extending this initiative which was so successful last year.”
“Hosted accommodation is really the only solution to the international student accommodation crisis and the call from the Government for people in WA, particularly from Perth to open their spare room is essential for the economy in international student education.
“People who have never hosted an international will love the experience based on the outcomes we have had from thousands of hosted accommodation opportunities that we have dealt with throughout the last few years in Perth.
“Perth is ahead of the rest of Australia in recognising that the solution for accommodation lies in these spares rooms, and as hosts are paid, tax-free in most cases, this is a great opportunity for the host and international students to benefit from this opportunity.” He said.
David Templeman MLA, Western Australian Minister for Culture and the Arts; Sport and Recreation; International Education; Heritage, acknowledged AHN’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for international students’ academic success while studying in Western Australia.
The program provides a secure homestay experience, supporting AHN’s mission to build international connections and cultural understanding and encouraging others in the Western Australian community to do so and become host families.
