In a boost for international students, global education services leader IDP Education has partnered with payment platform Flywire to launch a new awards initiative offering a total of US$150,000 in student support.
Fifty students will each receive US$3,000 to help fund their studies abroad, as part of the Fly Higher Awards program, which runs from 1 May to 31 July 2025. The initiative is designed to ease financial pressures for students navigating the high costs associated with international education.
To be eligible, students must be using IDP’s services and make two or more international payments via Flywire within the competition period. These payments can cover a wide range of essential expenses, including tuition, accommodation, health insurance, or banking fees.
Lucy Williams, Product Manager at IDP Education, said the initiative aims to recognise the trust students place in IDP and to offer tangible support beyond academic advice.
“Our students trust us with one of the most important decisions of their lives — pursuing their dreams through international education,” Williams said. “This trust extends to every part of their journey, including finances. With Flywire, we’re aiming to reduce that stress and help students feel more confident as they begin this new chapter.”
The award also reflects Flywire’s ongoing mission to streamline and improve the international payment experience for students.
Mina Fakhouri, Flywire’s Senior Vice President of Sales APAC EDU & Global Agents, said the collaboration with IDP was about more than money—it’s about empowerment.
“This program is about removing barriers and giving students the resources they need to pursue education without unnecessary financial strain,” said Fakhouri. “We’re proud to be part of their journey, supporting them every step of the way.”
Award recipients will also be invited to share their personal stories, showcasing how the financial support helped shape their overseas education journey.
