Tracey Horton AO has been announced as the incoming Chair of IDP Education Limited, succeeding retiring Chair, Peter Polson. Horton will commence as Chair on 16 June, having been an independent Non-Executive director of IDP since September 2022.

In addition to her involvement with IDP, Horton has strong international education credentials including as the former Chair of Navitas and as an expert member on the Council for International Education from 2016-2019. She was Chair of the Australian Industry and Skills Committee and Dean of the University of Western Australia’s Business School from mid 2004-2011.

Horton has a strong portfolio of other board and executive roles, and is currently Non-Executive Director of GPT Group Limited, IMDEX Limited and Bhagwan Marine Ltd.

Polson was appointed IDP Chair in 2007 and his decision to retire was communicated at the AGM in October last year.

In response to her appointment, Horton thanked the outgoing Chair and said, “With a clear vision and strategy and experienced management team, IDP is well placed to navigate current market challenges and take advantage of future opportunities. I look forward to working with the rest of the Board, our CEO, Tennealle O’Shannessy, and our Global Leadership Team to realise the potential of IDP Education”.
