The Koala News is a newly established International Education News site dedicated to the Australian International Education sector with flavourings from abroad, where relevant. It is located at https://thekoalanews.com
The Story
Campus Morning Mail, which Dirk wrote for had announced it was shutting down, Stephen Matchett and his daily education rag meant a lot to our sector – the daily news that many didn’t know they couldn’t do without. It was also where Dirk and several colleagues were able to present analysis and opinions. What now?
A couple of days later, over dinner with a prominent industry sector member, the discussion turned to how to keep the conversation alive. There was potential for a news outlet that concentrated on Australian International Education, with flavouring from abroad.
The idea of the Koala was born.
Why the Koala?
The Koala is intelligent, it can be cheeky, it aims to be informative and is uniquely Australian though proudly global.
It unashamedly promotes best practices in International Education. It loves seeing students succeed via a vibrant offering and supporting a mix of policy, recruitment and support settings.
Unlike some may suggest, the Koala is not a bear. He may be the bearer of bad news, but prefers positivity. He has his bearings firmly intact though he doesn’t mind going off-topic, dislikes bear-faced lies and liars and gets embearassed easily. He loves his cling (support network).
Subscribing is easy and can be done here.
We hope you find the Koala koalaty (it’s a bad pun on quality) and we’re all ears when it comes to improvement.
Enjoy the Koala News.
