Attached to the QS Reimagine Education Conference , the 2024 Reimagine Education Awards will celebrate over a decade of innovation to enhance global student learning outcomes and employability.
With Awards to be announced in London during December, this QS community continues to reshape the future of education and inspire partnerships between edtech companies, universities, start-ups, schools, and educational non-profits worldwide.
An innovative addition in 2024, the QS ImpACT, Awards, open to young people globally, will celebrate those innovators driving positive change towards a more sustainable future. The Awards recognise accomplishments by exceptional young people making positive impact across community, industry and society at large.
QS ImpACT, a UNEP accredited global charity and QS partner, will reward young individuals through scholarships and awards. The 2024 theme is ‘Effective, inclusive, and sustainable multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution’.
This is aligned to the recent UNEA-6 resolution; to advance work on management of metals, mineral resources, chemicals and waste, on environmental assistance and recovery in areas impacted by armed conflict, on integrated water resource management in the domestic sector, agriculture and industry to tackle water stress, on sustainable lifestyles, on rehabilitation of degraded lands and waters, and more.
The Awards will join the growing community of practice identifying and developing a rich kaleidoscope of entrepreneurial education initiatives that impact the SDGs. This is supported by the cohort of Australian universities signatory to the University Commitment to the UN SDGs and evident through the 10 Australian universities who are also members of the UN Global Compact Network Australia.
Not surprisingly then, many feature on the QS Quacquarelli Symonds Global Sustainability rankings. Highlighted through insightful dialogues and global networking opportunities, 16 Australian Universities sit in the global top 100 for the 2024 rankings.
With international education having its social license tested, this is an opportunity to showcase the innovation in sustainability emanating from the world class Australian Higher Education sector. These contributions, driven by young people, support the complex and exciting ecosystem that is bringing higher education, community, industry, government, research, teaching and learning together in progressing innovative sustainability practice.
The two award categories that can place Australian institutions, partnerships and student innovation on the global stage are;
QS ImpACT Skills Challenge Award
This award honours the winning team of the QS ImpACT Skills Challenge for their outstanding achievement in developing a video game that seamlessly maps and contextualizes the UN Sustainable Development Goals within their local community.
Recognising creativity and societal impact, this award highlights the transformative potential of design thinking and gaming to inspire action and awareness towards the SDGs at the grassroots level.
The QS ImpACT Skills Challenge is a games-for-good event challenging teams from global universities and communities globally to design games to educate and empower their local community on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and make an ImpACT through collaboration, action and play.

Best Student SDG Project Award
