The award season continues! providing a platform to showcase best practice and program success stories that underpin our globally renowned education sector.

The 13th annual Association for Tertiary Education Management (ATEM Inc) Awards for Excellence will recognise outstanding performance in practice and disciplines essential to the management of tertiary education across Australasia.

ATEM is a professional body for tertiary education administrators and managers. Established in 1976 it represents over 1200 individuals in universities, TAFEs, polytechnics and wanangas, private providers, government departments and other related organisations and also has more than 70 corporate organisational members.

Nominations are open for the 2024 ATEM Awards for Excellence here.

Advancing excellence in tertiary education ATEM is geographically diverse, across Australia, New Zealand (Aotearoa), the south Pacific and south-east Asia. They provide members with a professional framework for career development, supported by a code of conduct.

Tertiary administrators and managers are key to excellence in the delivery of services that underpin the international education sector. These contributions to institutional global agendas complement the global reputation of Teaching and Learning, Research and Industry Engagement strategies.

The awards will highlight examples of continuous improvement and recognise professional staff for commitment to quality outcomes. Those recognised will exemplify the best professional practice and demonstrate the breadth of capability across the sector. Importantly, they highlight the human side to the sector, through individuals and teams that work to ensure our institutions are global leaders.

The ATEM Awards are offered in eight categories, plus certificates of commendation;

  • Excellence in Leadership
  • Excellence in Service Delivery
  • Excellence in Governance: Risk and Policy
  • Excellence in People and Culture
  • Excellence in Digital Enablement
  • Excellence in Management
  • Excellence in Student Engagement
  • Excellence in Industry and Community Engagement

Nominating a team or an individual has scalable impact, it’s not simply recognition; it demonstrates appreciation, uplifts knowledge across the sector, builds organisational capability and showcases best practice globally.

Open to individual members, corporate members, and affiliates of ATEM; nominees must be a professional (individual) member, a corporate member, or an affiliate of ATEM, working in the tertiary education sector in Australia, Aotearoa or Papua New Guinea. This includes staff from a university, TAFE, polytechnic, Wānanga, private provider or public agency.

Nominations submitted here close midnight Friday 28 September 2024.
