The Prime Minister of Vietnam, HE Phạm Minh Chính, opened the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) Front Door on Tuesday, 5 March 2024, while visiting Australia for the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit 2024. AVPI is Australia’s first policy institute focused on its relationship with Vietnam, and the new AVPI Front Door provides a physical presence for the previously digital-only gateway launched in 2022.
Assistant Minister for Manufacturing and Assistant Minister for Trade, Senator the Hon Tim Ayres, and Premier of Victoria, the Hon Jacinta Allan MP, were also at the opening ceremony.
According to AVPI, “the launch of our physical presence in Melbourne will enable us to better engage with our community and form new connections”.
AVPI Front Door is co-located with Asia Society Australia at the RMIT Asia Trade and Innovation Hub.
Since it first launched in 2022, the AVPI has formed partnerships with over 20 organisations, engaged over 800 businesses, released a range of policy briefings, and housed 130 resources at www.avpi.org.au.
