Quality assurance in international education body, NEAS, is reporting continuing support of the Homestay standards that were introduced in October of last year (TKN 12/10/23).
CEO of NEAS, Adam Kilburn saying “we are proud of the work we have undertaken and continue to engage in for our Homestay Standards. We truly believe in the importance of quality endorsing hosted accommodation and the value it adds to the student experience and the wider ELT sector.
“We are delighted to see that these values resonate with numerous partners, including the majority of Australian Study Bodies.” He said.
Homestay service providers are measured against Quality Area O of the NEAS Quality Assurance Framework which ensures:
- The homestay service provider demonstrates effective governance and management to support students and host families;
- The homestay premises provides students with a safe, secure and comfortable environment;
- The homestay service provider supports effective welfare arrangements for all students; and
- Host families are provided with information and training to support the welfare and wellbeing of students.
