IDP has announced the winners of its first-ever IELTS Future Awards, a new initiative aimed at supporting test takers in achieving their international education, career, and migration goals.
Eight individuals from across the global IELTS network have each received a $5,000 USD cash prize to help them take the next step in their international journey. The recipients are pursuing a wide range of fields, including technology, health, aerospace, education, and environmental science.
Among this year’s winners is Dr. Chinenye Okafor, a medical doctor and family medicine resident from Nigeria, who hopes to complete her training in obstetrics and gynaecology abroad.
“The IDP IELTS Future Award is more than financial aid—it is a bridge to my aspirations,” Dr. Okafor said. “It will empower me to refine my skills, gain global expertise, and return home to support communities in need of quality healthcare.”
Saman Akbaryan, another award recipient, highlighted the opportunity the award brings in helping him work toward permanent residency in Australia.
“Australia is a land of opportunity and accessibility,” he said. “This award brings me one step closer to continuing my life and career in a country that empowers me.”
The IELTS Future Awards were created to recognise and support test takers who are using their IELTS results to pursue significant goals abroad. IDP Education says the program is part of a broader effort to highlight the determination and global ambitions of its test takers.
This year’s award recipients reflect a diverse range of backgrounds and ambitions, all united by a common goal: to build meaningful careers and contribute to communities both at home and overseas.
