LANGUAGECERT Academic Expands Across Australia with National Test Centre Network

LanguageCert Celebrates Recognition in Australia and New Zealand with Sector Launch Events

Australia’s international education and migration sectors are set to benefit from a major boost in English testing choice and quality, with LANGUAGECERT Academic launching a national network of High-Stakes Test Centres following its official recognition by the Department of Home Affairs for all visa categories.

The expansion marks a significant investment in secure testing infrastructure across Australia, reinforcing assessment integrity, accessibility, and alignment with the country’s global reputation for education excellence.

Regulated by Ofqual (UK) and recognised by government departments, professional bodies, and educational institutions worldwide, LANGUAGECERT Academic offers two secure delivery models — live human-proctored online testing and a growing network of High-Stakes Test Centres (HSTCs) across Australia and globally in all Australia’s key source countries for international students. This hybrid model gives candidates flexibility while ensuring that results remain consistent, verified, and trusted by institutions and immigration authorities alike.

While Australian visa applicants are required to sit their tests at approved HSTCs, the combined online and in-person models remain available globally, giving candidates and institutions genuine choice and accessibility.

Dr Patrick Pheasant, Head of Education Partnerships for Australia and New Zealand, said the investment reflects LANGUAGECERT’s commitment to supporting students through one of their most significant challenges.

“A language test for university or migration purposes is one of the most significant hurdles a student faces,” Dr Pheasant said.“Our investment in robust, professional test centres across Australia reflects our belief that this crucial assessment should occur in an environment that removes uncertainty and supports candidates to perform at their best. The consistent, structured environment we offer provides both fairness and peace of mind.”

National Rollout to Maximise Access

LANGUAGECERT Academic is delivering on that promise with a rapid national expansion, ensuring secure in-person testing is available across major education and population hubs.

Centres are already operating — or soon to open — in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, in partnership with leading education providers such as Academies Australasia.

Joanna Kelly, General Manager of Academies Australasia, said the collaboration represents a meaningful step forward for students and the broader international education community.

“The launch of the LANGUAGECERT Academic High-Stakes Test Centres at Academies Australasia in Melbourne and Sydney is a significant milestone for our students and the broader international education community,” Ms Kelly said. “We are excited to partner with LANGUAGECERT to provide candidates with a high-integrity, professional environment that supports their aspirations for study and migration in Australia.”

The expansion will continue throughout 2025, with new centres planned for Brisbane, Adelaide, and Cairns, followed by Perth, Canberra, the Gold Coast, and Hobart — ensuring that every state and territory capital, along with key regional areas, is supported by a secure LANGUAGECERT facility.

Fraser Cargill, Director for Oceania & East Asia, said the rollout reflects a deeper commitment to maintaining the quality and trust that underpin Australia’s education reputation.

“Recognition by the Department of Home Affairs was only the first step,” Mr Cargill said.
“Our nationwide rollout demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing the secure, high-quality testing environment Australia expects. Each centre represents an investment in integrity, ensuring every score we issue continues to carry the trust and value Australian education is known for.”

The Koala congratulates LanguageCert and Academies Australasia on this partnership and wishes them the very best.
