Victoria Announces New Initiative: Yes to International Students Fund

The Victorian International Education Awards, proudly presented by Study Melbourne, are now open for applications—inviting international students, recent graduates, and education industry leaders to gain well-deserved recognition for their outstanding contributions to Victoria’s global education community.

These awards spotlight excellence across both student and industry categories:

Student Award Categories include:

  • International Student of the Year – Higher Education
  • International Student of the Year – Research
  • International Student of the Year – English Language Training
  • International Student of the Year – Vocational Education and Training
  • International Student of the Year – Regional
  • International Student/Graduate Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Emerging Leader – International Alumni Award
  • Premier’s Award – International Student of the Year (selects the overall standout from the above winners)

Industry Award Categories celebrate excellence across key areas including:

  • International Student Experience
  • Employability and Career Development
  • Transnational Education & Partnerships
  • International Student Accommodation
  • International Student Employer of the Year
  • Premier’s Award – International Education Provider of the Year

Why It Matters

These awards recognise the rich diversity and innovation of Victoria’s international education sector—celebrating students’ academic achievements, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact, while acknowledging providers who elevate learning experiences and global engagement.

Key Dates & How to Apply

  • Applications close: 11:59 PM AEST, Friday 12 September 2025
  • Finalists notified: Early November 2025
  • Winners announced: At an official awards ceremony in late 2025
