University of Wollongong (UOW) Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Patricia Davidson, has been announced as the new co-convener of the of Education National Industry Group at the Australian India Chamber of Commerce (AICC).
The AICC is the leading representative body of trade and commerce between Australia and India and the only Chamber of Commerce in Australia focussed on Australia – India relations.
The AICC National Industry Groups are focussed on key sectors identified in the India Economic Strategy (to 2035). With representatives from each state as well as from India, AICC National Industry Groups address opportunities in sectors and key issues that can lead to successful commercial outcomes across both countries.
In September 2023, UOW unveiled its UOW India identity at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), Gandhinagar, to become one of the first foreign universities to have an International Branch Campus in India. Due to commence operations in 2024, UOW is currently advertising graduate certificates and master’s degrees in computer science and information systems, and finance and fintech on its website.
