Rankings agency QS has announced the launch of the QS World University Rankings plugin for ChatGPT.
As an example of an organisation embracing AI, the tool leverages the power of OpenAI’s most advanced language model to date, twinned with QS World University Rankings 2024 data.
As a basic example, users of Chat GPT can now ask questions such as the following:
- What are the top 10 Universities in Australia?; and
- Which of these Universities achieved the highest score for employability?
- And sustainability?
QS’s journey with AI isn’t new; they have previously used Machine Learning models to bolster student recruitment activities for higher education institutions.
Of the launch, Chris Martin, QS Chief Technology Officer “Generative AI models are the forefront of delivering rich, conversational responses. However, they’re based on past data. Our aim is to ensure ChatGPT Plus Academic and Student users always access the most current and contextually relevant University performance information.”
Ben Sowter, Senior Vice-President of QS, said “On the 20th Anniversary of the QS World University Rankings, we revamped our methodology to resonate with GenZ and GenAlpha priorities. Our refined approach now places a greater emphasis on graduate employability, and cross-border university collaboration to address global challenges, and we’re proud to be the first to introduce Sustainability as a ranking metric. Integrating generative AI is our next leap to connect with the tech-savvy generation of learners.”
The QS World University Rankings plugin for ChatGPT is available to ChatGPT Plus users and accessible from the Open AI Plugins Store.
