The ACICIS Bahasa Sesh Challenge is back again from 1 – 26 Oct 2023! In celebration of Indonesian Language Month or ‘Bulan Bahasa’, ACICIS challenges participants to share their favourite word(s) or phrase(s) in Bahasa Indonesia.

Last year’s Challenge saw entries from across Australia and internationally. Entries came from students, teachers, academics, and serving Indonesian and Australian diplomats including Australia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams, and High Commissioner to Brunei, Luke Arnold.

The grand prize winner was a student from The University of Melbourne with the word ‘curhat’, meaning to have a ‘heart-to-heart’.

Want to know how to participate?

  1.  Create a video of yourself telling ACICIS your favourite Bahasa Indonesia word/phrase and why.
  2. Share the video on your social media channels by Thursday 26 Oct 2023.
  3. Tag and mention ACICIS Study Indonesia and use the #bahasasesh hashtag.

The Grand Prize

One free ACICIS Indonesian Language Short Course session in Central Java, valued at over $3,000 AUD! This program consists of intensive Indonesian language classes (from total beginner to advanced), cultural classes and field trips.

Weekly Prizes

There are also several weekly prizes to be won! Vouchers, snack packs, Indonesia-Australia paraphernalia and more!

The Koala wishes all entrants luck!
