Western Australia’s education professionals are being encouraged to deepen their understanding of the Vietnamese education landscape at an upcoming cultural awareness session hosted by the Council for International Students of Western Australia (CISWA) on Thursday 26 June.
The half-day seminar, titled “Working Effectively with Students and Institutions from Vietnam,” will be held at Canning College from 9:30am to 12:30pm. It aims to equip education practitioners with insights and strategies for more meaningful engagement with Vietnamese students and institutions.
The session will feature a strong line-up of speakers, including:
- Celia Cornwell, CISWA President and international higher education freelancer
- Nguyen Thanh Ha, Consul General (or a representative from the Vietnamese consulate)
- Rhys Lodwick, Manager of International Partnerships at Edith Cowan University
- Derryn Belford, CEO of StudyPerth
- Vicky Dunford-Kelland, International Education Specialist
- Presentations from Vietnamese students currently studying in Australia
Attendees will hear about recent trends in student enrolments and commencements from Vietnam, opportunities for institutional collaboration, and first-hand experiences from Vietnamese students navigating life and study in Australia.
The seminar promises to be a valuable opportunity for those seeking to enhance connections with Vietnamese partners, better understand student needs, and explore new recruitment and engagement strategies in a key source market for international education.
The session is open to all WA education sector professionals. Cost is $150 for CISWA members and $250 for non-members.
