IEAA Announces Election Results

IEAA nominations for 2024 elections are open

A short time ago the IEAA released the results of their recent elections following yesterday’s Annual General Meeting at AIEC 2024.

Board Results

The following nominees were successfully elected to their respective positions.

Vice President

Jonathan Chew IEAA-SF – Jon currently holds the role of Chief Insights Officer at Navitas. He previously served as an Ordinary Board Member. Per the IEAA constitution, he will serve a two-year term as Vice President, and then serve a two-year term as President.

Ordinary Board Members

Brett Blacker – Brett currently holds the position of Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand at Duolingo. He is a former IEAA President and IEAA Board member.

Mike Ferguson IEAA-SF – Mike currently holds the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Charles Sturt University. He has been re-elected to the IEAA Board.

Tracy Harris IEAA-SF – Tracy currently holds the role of Principal at Tracy Harris Solutions. She is newly elected to the IEAA Board.

In an announcement to their membership, the IEAA extended its thanks to outgoing President Prof Simon Ridings IEAA-SF, longstanding Board member Prof Sarah Todd IEAA-SF, and fellow Board members Emily O’Callaghan IEAA-SF and Sally Waite for their generous contributions.

The Board will meet in November to appoint the two invited Board member positions. An announcement of the election results for IEAA Network Leadership will be made shortly.

Network Leadership Results

The IEAA also announced their new Network Leadership for the next two years.

The following candidates who were appointed unopposed:

  • Admissions and Compliance Convener: Anna Kirkham IEAA-AF
  • Admissions and Compliance Deputy Convener: Hang Nguyen
  • Pathways Convener: Dom Harden
  • Scholarships and Fellowships Convener: Alison White IEAA-SF
  • Scholarships and Fellowships Deputy Convener: Sanjog Parajuli
  • Transnational Education Convener: Caryn Nery IEAA-SF

The following nominees were successfully elected to their respective positions:

Linda Rust IEAA-F, Convener, Learning Abroad – Linda currently holds the role of Manager, Global Learning at the University of Melbourne. She has previously served as Convener of the network.

Simon Watson IEAA-SF, Deputy Convener, Learning Abroad – Simon currently holds the role of Senior Manager, Global Mobility Programs at UTS. He has previously served as Convener of the network.

Rebecca Bendall IEAA-AF, Convener, Marketing and Recruitment – Rebecca currently holds the role of Director, Partnership Development ANZ at Acumen. She has previously served on the IEAA Board.

Clare Magee, IEAA-F, Deputy Convener, Pathways – Clare currently holds the role of Director, Humanities at Monash College.

Kate Gresham, Deputy Convener, Pathways – Kate currently holds the role of Academic Director at UWA College.

Kailey Milroy IEAA-AF, Deputy Convener, Student Life – Kailey currently holds the role of Manager, Student Services and Engagement  at Government Education and Training International (Tasmania). She has been re-elected as Deputy Convener.

Susan Schlinker IEAA-AF, Deputy Convener, Student Life – Susan currently holds the role of Senior Talent and Employability Officer at Study Queensland. She has previously held the position of Queensland Young Professionals Co-Chair.

Casey Parkes, IEAA-AF, Deputy Convener, Teaching and Learning – Casey currently holds the role of Director, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at Kaplan. She has been re-elected as Deputy Convener.

Dr Raul Sanchez-Urribarri, IEAA-AF, Deputy Convener, Teaching and Learning – Raul currently holds the role of Associate Dean (Academic and International Partnerships) and Senior Lecturer (Crime, Justice, and Legal Studies) at La Trobe. He has been re-elected as Deputy Convener.

Peter Harris, IEAA-AF, Deputy Convener, Transnational Education – Peter currently holds the role of Executive Director Future Students at UTS College. He has been re-elected as Deputy Convener.

The IEAA also acknowledged the enormous contribution of the outgoing Network Leaders: Andrew Foley IEAA-SF, Tracy Harris IEAA-SF, Tatjana Kroll, Kate Pretty IEAA-AF, Danielle Rock, Peline Tan IEAA-AF, and Ashley Tanks IEAA-F.
